All launches on Product Hunt have points. These are what determine a launch's rank on the homepage. Points are based on genuine upvotes with comments serving as an additional factor.

In the past, we only displayed upvote count, but this lead to confusion about ranking when upvote counts did not match a launch's rank. Points are a much more accurate representation.
