This article outlines the Ambassador program's mission, expectations, perks, and how to get involved.

This program is still evolving, and your feedback helps guide it!

  2. Join Slack – We’ll add you to our private Slack channel.

  3. Introduce Yourself – Say hi and let us know what you’re excited about!

  4. Engage Regularly – Check out launches, welcome new community members, post in forums, share your thoughts, etc.

  5. Stay Connected – We’ll post updates, prompts, and opportunities in Slack.

📈 How we measure impact

We’re building out our tracking, but we’ll mainly look at:

  • Participation in forum discussions and launch engagement

  • Helpful contributions to Makers and the community

  • Any content, referrals, or leadership you provide

This isn’t about being “the most active”, it’s about showing up thoughtfully.

📚 Frequently asked questions

How can I get added?

  • The Product Hunt team – and current Ambassadors – may reach out if they notice your helpful contributions. You’ll be invited to fill out our interest form, and we add new members periodically as the program grows.

Keep in mind that selection is on the sole discretion of the Product Hunt team. Meeting our baseline Community Guidelines and Ambassador expectations are just the starting point. We consider many factors when inviting new ambassadors, including tone, consistency, helpfulness, and overall impact.

What’s the time commitment?

  • No hard requirements. Just show up regularly and let us know if your availability changes.

Can I promote my own products?

  • Absolutely! Just keep in mind the Ambassador role is about supporting the community, not just your own projects.

How do I know if I’m doing a good job?

  • We’ll share feedback occasionally, and if you’re active in Slack and the community, you’re probably doing great.

Can I step back if I’m too busy?

  • Of course. Just message us so we know.

Can I recommend someone else?

  • Yes! We always welcome suggestions for standout community members.

Do I have to host events?

  • Not at all. That’s optional and something we may explore more in the future.

I haven’t been added to Slack!

  • Check your email for an invite or message us with the best email to use.

If you have any questions, reach out to us in Slack, via the chat option online, or at hello@producthunt.com.
