We aim to showcase the newest and most impactful products in tech. While we appreciate all submissions, not every product can be featured on the homepage. This guide covers our criteria and helps explain why a product may or may not be featured.

What We Feature

  • Digital Products: Our primary focus is on digital products and services.

  • Live Products: We only feature products that are currently available.

What we look for in featured launches

  • Useful: How practical and beneficial is the product for users?

  • Novel: How innovative or unique is the product in its approach or solution?

  • High Craft: How well-designed and delightful is the product to use?

  • Creative: How fun, engaging, or imaginative is the product?

Featured launches don’t need to score high in every category - often they spike in one or two of these.

Our goal is to feature products that are useful, and also inspire and inform our community.

What We Don't Feature

To maintain the quality and relevance of our platform, and based on feedback from our community about what they're interested in seeing, we do not feature:

  • Waitlisted products (unless immediate access is provided)

  • Directories or lists

  • Templates

  • Boilerplates

  • Podcasts

  • Courses

  • Events

  • Books

  • Deal sites

  • Services

  • Off-topic submissions (not tech-related)

  • Kickstarter projects

  • Hardware (unless it has a prominent digital component e.g., AI wearables)

Additional factors that can lead to a launch not being featured:

  • No Vaporware: We only feature products that are ready for use or have a clear path to launch.

  • Value Over Monetization: We avoid featuring minimal, undifferentiated products that seem primarily focused on immediate monetization rather than providing long-term value.

  • Evolving Trends: As the tech space continues to rapidly progress, our standards for featuring products naturally evolve. What was novel yesterday may be commonplace today.

  • Engagement Isn't Everything: While user engagement is important, it's not the sole factor in our featuring decisions. We prioritize products that align with our featuring criteria and add value to our community.

Moderation Process

Our team carefully reviews each submission based on the criteria outlined above. By the time a product is visible on Product Hunt, we've thoroughly evaluated it multiple times. In the vast majority of cases, our featuring decisions are final and based on the information provided in your submission and provided links.

While we strive for accuracy and fairness, we acknowledge that in rare instances, there may be crucial context about your product that wasn't clear from the initial submission. If you believe this is the case, you may reach out to provide additional information.

Please note:

  1. Reaching out is rarely necessary. Our team is thorough in reviewing submissions, and in most cases, all required information is available in your initial submission.

  2. Providing additional context does not guarantee that your product will be featured. It's simply an opportunity to ensure we have a complete understanding of your product.

  3. To respect our team's time and maintain fairness for all submitters, please only reach out if you have critical information that was not included in your original submission.

Remember, not being featured doesn't reflect negatively on your product's quality or potential. We encourage you to continue developing your product and look forward to seeing your future innovations on Product Hunt.
