Product Hunt aims to maintain an engaged and authentic community. Occasionally, accounts may encounter restrictions preventing them from posting products, commenting, or voting.

Understanding Account Restrictions

Accounts flagged as branded or company accounts have limited access to Product Hunt. Such accounts are not permitted to post products, comment, or vote. By contrast, personal accounts have full access to these features. Restrictions might occur if your account lacks necessary personal information that aligns with Product Hunt's Community Guidelines.

Other reasons for account restrictions could be due to violations of our Commenting Guidelines, Forum Guidelines, Community Guidelines, or Terms of Service.

Account Requirements for Full Access

To ensure your account meets the criteria for full posting access, it should include:

  1. Full Name: Your first and last name.

  2. Profile Picture: A clear photo representing yourself.

  3. Personal Bio: A bio that reflects an individual rather than a company or brand, such as details about your role or interests.

Steps to Regain Full Access

If your account access is restricted due to being flagged as a branded or company account, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to your Account Settings on Product Hunt.

  2. Update your profile details to include:

    1. Your first and last name.

    2. A clear profile photo.

    3. A bio that reflects personal account usage.

  3. Save the changes to your profile.

  4. Contact our team to notify us of the updates and request a review of your account.

Once our team reviews your account and approves a reset, you will regain the ability to post products, comment, and vote on the platform.
